What are the chances of getting the same exact recipe on back to back RSF’s? Insane I bet. Radi got a Freebird:Stealth drop at the end of her RSF run and then Rae got the same an hourish later. I should go back to collecting SHO’s for a bit on em – maybe I’ll get two micro’s back to back. Heh. At least I know the Freebirds will sell for a decent amount.

Oh, and 45 minute RSF runs? Rock mightily. Seeing the dialogue “Positron has defeated Manticore” rocks even more. Damn I love Seeds of Confusion. Having the competing team wipe in the last mish due to a frisky cat? Not as much fun as they were literally a minute or so behind us.

…or Recluse’s Strike Force, for those 45+. The strike force that was introduced as a contest on Test, yep that one. Only, this time it was toned down after the recent AV rollbacks. Even then, it’s still a corruptor festival, but a friend finished it on a team with no corruptors – bringing hope to the unwanted AT’s for the SF.

Some was starting a team in the early evening, Rae was a bar and a half away from 45 so I decided to pipe up and volunteer. After all, I’m not one to turn down someone wanting a domi for this beast. An hour later Rae dings (and ironically thats how long I said it would take) and the leader of that group tells me that he’s full, too bad so sad, better luck next time. Ooookay. That’s not the point of this entry.

So… I take Rae out to Siren’s to work on the timed badge for a bit, partly as a small break for me, partly because it’s needed for an accolade (which is a rant for another time). Not five minutes into Siren’s, but I get a tell asking if I’ve got 4 hours free. Only if it’s where I think this is headed. Sure, I’ll gladly sign away 4 hours of my life to jump on this beastie…

If you’re in a VG and have a base and can muster together at least 4 people to run a Strike Force, this one is a must-run one. There’re 6 missions, each map consisting of a “unique” mapset. Think back to the Malaise/Mother Mayhem asylum map, and the Striga Vampire Coffin map for example. There’s also a Paragon Protector Lab map. Then there’s the final mission map, which is entirely unique thus far featuring the oil rig in Sharkhead. You start at the back end of a cargo ship then progress to outside where you see this. And this.

The mission directive? To destroy enough turrets on the rig so that the AV will come-a-runnin to play cat and mouse with you. Oh, and if you end up dying and having a TP’er port you to a safe spot? Nope. He’ll come a runnin after you and does not let go. Once you aggro the AV, he’s there til either there’s a team wipe or he goes down.

Overall, lots of fun, lots of good xp. Rae gained a level and then some from this alone.
