Villainish Drift

I still find it amusing that in 50 levels that one would think that once you hit 25 that would signal the halfway point of one’s heroic career. Bzzzt. Wrong answer. It’s actually 35 that marks the halfway point. I was painfully reminded of this earlier once Frost dinged 36 and that first xp bub creeped and creeped.

I’ve also forgotten just how much of a slog the late 30’s are. And by “slog” I mean, long and tedious pain in the ass. Mind you, this conflicts with my drive to get Frost to 45 post haste so she can be an active cardholder of the Jello Squashing Society. Once she hits 40 and she stays in Peregrine full time, I’m sure she’ll run the final 5 levels fine.

I’ve gotten her to the point where I can run her solo with a minimum of fuss. Jack is still a mixed bag for me as I’m learning how to manage a pet ontop of selling her as a healer (for the xp of course). I’m not a fan of uncontrolled pet aggro/behavior, so while I may seem like a gimped ‘troller for not always having her pet out in team missions, it’s more because I’m still trying to find that fine line of balance for myself.

On a related note, I was thinking earlier about how difficult it’s been leveling this gal as well as her team dependency early on. I have a better appreciation of empathy as a whole and how intense it is on a full team, and this is with a numpad full of binds. I tried the click on a teammate in the list and it worked for one or two people. Managing 7 that way? Nuh-uh. I’d pull all my hair out trying. I love Frost and I love playing her, but after she gets to 50, she’ll be my first and last empathy build.

It’s been a while, and far too long since I’ve posted anything at all over on this side.

Character Updates:

** Stormy’s still at 50, the poor girl. She was asking for some PL love to 51 earlier and no one would give it to her. Bastards. Slowly working on the needed badges on her, the 5th damage taken badge is a major pain in the ass to get. Ugh. Stormy also switched SG’s. Again and for the final time. CoC wasn’t what I would consider “home”, I teamed up with a few of the folks a couple times and they were wonderful, but it just didn’t feel right.

I also forgot to check the list of Talos punishers for last month. Stormy was number 3, or so I was told by a very reliable source.

** Rae’s still a 40 and chugging along. She finally finished her pesky AV mission with Ice Mistral. Though I believe she’s officially cleared out all of her contacts now. Also need to start switching her between SG mode on missions. Not much else to mention with her.

** Frosty is a somewhat new addition to the stable, I don’t think I’ve written about her yet. She originally was a ‘troller that I was mildly curious about playing, but with the need for ‘trollers during Hami Raids I decided to see if I could get her to at least 45. Ice/Empathy is the old FoTM for raiding, but hey, a ‘troller is a ‘troller.

Frosty’s also a team dependent toon, or was pre Jack. I’m still open to any team I can get her on for xp though, but I’m loving the ability to actually solo missions now without them taking forever to complete.

11 more levels and a bub and she can play in the Hive. It’s a shame she’s about to hit the late 30’s slog. I’m hopeful to get her raid level by the end of June.

** Fury the poster badge child now has all 3 hit point/endurance accolades before hitting level 25. I’m at a crossroads with her – she’s the only toon with the Halloween badges from ‘04, so she’s evolved into the toon that stays no matter what, yet I’m not entirely happy with her. She’s elec/fire, which isn’t far from Stormy being elec/ice, Stormy was deleted and rebuilt a couple times and as a result doesn’t have the halloween badges.

It’s also been said that the halloween badges are to return down the road. I’m excited about this because that means Stormy can get em and I can retire Fury. That’s my quandry. I’m proud of the fact that she has her accolades at such a low level, but on the flipside I haven’t really played her.

** BV is the youngest addition to the Vyxen clan. She started out as a dare and I ended up building her the other day. Fortunately that dare included her as a blaster *grin*. She has a bio and needs an SG home, though I don’t know when I’ll have time to play with her, likely after Frosty dings 45 and I get that bug out of my system.
